The Nude Party is premiering their brand spankin’ new music video for ‘Somebody’s Tryin’ To Hoodoo Me’, right here, right now, and we couldn’t be happier.

We are fans of music in general, but are particularly partial to music that has guitars and a good melody. If that song happens to be accompanied by a teenage-horror-themed music video, we like it even more. On a very personal note, it is the consensus here at MC that there isn’t enough theatrics in art, and that people should stop leaning on subtlety to the point of complicity. ‘Go big or go the fuck home’ as they say, and the Nude Party went big with this one. We are proud to present their new music vid and are looking forward to their massive tour, the dates of which are listed below, but first, a statement from the band.

‘For the Nude Party’s, ‘Somebody’s Tryin’ To Hoodoo Me,’ we took Dr. John’s musings on supernatural revenge as an opportunity to showcase our collective obsession with 1970’s &80’s horror films, with a special not to Argento, Boorman, and Lynch. We particularly loved the idea of an 80’s style girl’s bedroom, symbolic of teen angst, as an actual vehicle for cursing our unsuspecting protagonist, Patton, who can’t seem to escape the consequences of unrequited love. Shooting on 16mm Kodak film enabled us to create an immersive story, with an emphasis on color, surrealistic imagery, and referential special effect.’
